We are looking for a Full-time Purchasing Agent to support our rapidly growing company!

Employment Status: Full-time, permanent, on-site

Schedule: M-F, 8am-5pm

Salary: Starting at $65,000/year, commensurate with experience

Position Summary:
The Purchasing Agent is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and coordinating the procurement of heavy equipment, machinery, parts, and related products for government and commercial customers. This position works closely with manufacturers, vendors, customers, and internal teams to obtain competitive pricing, meet contract and customer requirements, coordinate timely delivery, and maintain strong, lasting business relationships.

Key Responsibilities:
o Sources and procures heavy equipment, machinery, parts, and related products from manufacturers, distributors, and other qualified vendors.
o Reviews customer and contract requirements to identify appropriate products, specifications, pricing, availability, lead times, and delivery 
   requirements.
o Reviews and evaluates vendor quotations and purchasing terms to ensure pricing and procurement requirements are accurate and competitive;
   assists with vendor pricing and quotation requests as needed.
o Develops and maintains strong, professional relationships with manufacturers, vendors, government customers, and other business partners.
o Processes purchase orders for both Sales and Rental operations, ensuring accuracy, required documentation, and timely submission to applicable
   vendors.
o Manages Rental Purchase Order activity, including new awards, extensions, supplemental orders, fuel charges, damage charges, cancellations, and
   related adjustments.
o Coordinates and maintains Proof of Delivery documentation for rental orders, including obtaining, recording, tracking, and maintaining required
   supporting documentation.
o Coordinates Certificate of Insurance (COI) requests by reviewing requests, communicating required coverage or updates to the company's insurance
   agent, and distributing updated certificates as needed.
o Coordinates purchase orders and procurement activities from initial quotation through delivery, including order confirmation, lead-time monitoring,
   shipping, and resolution of discrepancies.
o Works closely with sales, rentals, operations, and management to communicate equipment availability, pricing, delivery schedules, and other
   procurement considerations.
o Maintains accurate purchasing records, vendor information, quotations, purchase orders, and related documentation.
o Reviews purchasing documentation for accuracy and completeness and ensures assigned procurement activities and documentation comply with
   applicable contract requirements and company procedures.
o Monitors market conditions, manufacturer pricing, equipment availability, supply-chain issues, and other trends that may affect procurement
   decisions and customer commitments.
o Assists with government contracting and procurement activities, including documentation and vendor coordination associated with Federal
  Government purchases.
o Communicates proactively with customers and vendors regarding order status, changes, delays, substitutions, and other issues that may affect
   delivery or customer satisfaction.
o Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
o Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field (preferred).
o 4+ years of purchasing, procurement, equipment, machinery, sales, or related experience; experience with heavy equipment is preferred.
o Prior experience with government contracts preferred.
o Strong organizational and time management skills.
o Ability to prioritize competing customer and sales requirements, recognize time-sensitive issues, and escalate matters appropriately.
o Meticulous attention to detail to ensure data is entered accurately.
o Ability to multi-task when necessary.
o Great oral and written communication skills.
o Excellent customer service skills.
o Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
o Knowledge of state and federal laws that apply to the duties of this position.
o Ability to identify problems and recommend solutions within the scope of the position.
o Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions.
o Ability to maintain strict customer and corporate confidentiality.
